Car ADAS

Smart-car servicing made efficient

A mobile app that helps collision centers handle the sensors and cameras in modern cars, faster and more reliably.

My role

UX Designer & Analyst

Started as the sole UX designer, drafting the product strategy by visualizing the product in low-fidelity wireframes.

Timeline

24 weeks

Twelve design sprints of two weeks each.

01

The problem

Modern cars need more than a body shop

After an accident, a regular body shop can fix the dents. But today’s cars are full of sensors and cameras, and those need special attention. That’s the job of collision centers.

Our goal: understand what collision centers need, and automate their process so service is faster, easier and more reliable.
To writeA sentence or two on what goes wrong today: where time is lost, what’s manual, and what an error costs.
02

My approach

Research first, then the smallest thing that works

  • Understand the needs

What collision centers do, step by step, and where it hurts.

  • Talk to the experts

Learn from technicians and industry experts before designing a feature.

  • MVP first

Ship the core workflow, then grow from there.

To writeWho you spoke to, how many, and the one or two insights that changed the direction.

Design problems

Turning a technical process into a guided flow

Design problem 1 · How might we

…show the whole job at a glance?

The work order summary brings the vehicle, the services and the total cost into one screen.

To writeConfirm or rewrite this design problem: what users needed to see first, and why.

Design problem 2 · How might we

…make sure no calibration step gets skipped?

The pre-calibration checklist walks through each check before calibration starts.

To writeConfirm or rewrite this design problem: the risk of a missed step, and how the checklist prevents it.
